Boca Raton - Penn-Florida Companies is the newest sponsor to sign up to support the Allianz Championship to be held Feb. 5 through Feb. at The Old Course at Broken Sound, located at 1401 NW 51st Street, (Yamato Road) on Old Course Way in Boca Raton.

Bringing the legendary champions of golf to Boca Raton for a celebrated week-long PGA Champions Tour tournament, the Allianz Championship will host a variety of events that will be driving all net proceeds to Boca Raton Community Hospital. Allianz Championship Tournament players will include Nick Price, Fuzzy Zoeller, Gary Player, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Tom Kite, Curtis Strange, Craig Stadler, Jay Haas…and many more legends of the game.

The tour event is being managed by Pro Links Sports, headquartered in Minneapolis, MN that directs five tournaments on the Champions Tour schedule, all are continuously voted in the top ten tournaments by the players.

The Allianz Championship increases the Champions Tour’s early-season Florida swing to three tournaments with the Golf Channel televising live all three rounds of the championship from The Old Course at Broken Sound Club. The purse will be $1.6 million in 2007, escalating $50,000 each of the following two years.

Events included a NASCAR Pro-Am Monday, Feb. 5th (featuring 22 groups consisting of one NASCAR driver and one Champions tour professional and four amateurs playing in a Best Ball competition).

The rest of the week includes a Junior Pro-Am & Pro Skills Challenge Tuesday, Feb. 6, and the Championship Pro-Am on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 7 and 8, followed by the televised 54-hole competition Friday through Sunday, Feb. 9-11.
